October 1st-5th: Witch’s Garden Prompt

What is fat bear week? An online voting bracket in which the internet votes on the FATEST bear for the season.

Why? Because these bears need to pack on as much weight as possible before hibernation, and this championship helps bring awareness to the bear's problems. They depend on nature and the bounty of the season, the buffet? SALMON. Salmon populations have been crashing, due to human influence such as overfishing, dam construction, pollution and the climate crisis. Salmon is the lifeblood of the coastline here in North America, bringing the rich nutrients from the ocean inland to the forests.

So what are we doing to celebrate Fat Bear Week? Hosting a character raffle! Introducing, X̱áat: the sockeye salmon manokit. Named after the word for salmon in the language of the Tlingit people, who have lived on Admiralty Island and in southeast Alaska for centuries with numerous stories about the importance of salmon. The winner of the raffle will gain all rights to this character, plus all the artwork done of them! All the artwork done? Yes!

To participate in this raffle you MUST contribute an illustration of X̱áat, and pick a bear to be your champion. That's right, you need to pick a bear to participate, which means that only 16 people can participate. After that, it's closed! Although you can still contribute art if you would like, to show support.

How to join:

1) Make sure there are still open spots in the raffle, join the official manokit discord!

2) Draw art of X̱áat, any art will do but we do ask you to put some time and effort into it.

3) Check the https://explore.org/meet-the-bears and pick your champion.

4) Submit both your illustration + the number ID of the bear that will represent you in the official manokit discord channel: #fat-bear-week-2026-raffle ← bear can ONLY be claimed when you do both at the same time!

5) Go vote in the polls and see if your bear makes it to the championship~

Event ends once the winner of the fat bear week champion is announced! Good luck players, may the chonkiest bear win.
